🏔️ 🏔️ Ba Na Hills – One of the Most Famous Attractions in Da Nang 🌿✨
Ba Na Hills is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Da Nang. Located about 40 km from the city center, it is a mountain resort and amusement complex famous for its cool weather, beautiful scenery, and unique experiences.
🚠 Visitors take a cable car to reach the mountain top. The cable car system here is one of the longest and most impressive in the world, offering breathtaking views of forests, mountains, and clouds along the way.
📸 Highlights you should not miss:
✨ Golden Bridge – the famous bridge held by two giant stone hands
🏰 French Village – designed like a small European town with beautiful architecture, cafés, and restaurants
🎢 Indoor amusement park and adventure games
🌸 Flower gardens and temples
📷 Many beautiful photo spots and walking areas
🌤️ The weather on the mountain is usually cooler than in the city, often a little chilly and foggy, so remember to bring a light jacket.
💡 Tips & Local Secrets:
⏰ Try to arrive early!
• The cable car usually starts operating around 8:00 AM, so leaving the city around 7:00 AM is recommended.
• Ba Na Hills is huge with many places to explore, so starting early helps you enjoy the full experience.
🚶 Weekends can be VERY crowded.
• On weekends and holidays, queues can be very long.
• If possible, visit on weekdays for a more comfortable trip.
🍞 Food tip:
• If you do not book the buffet lunch, you may want to bring some snacks and water for convenience. Please follow the current park regulations.
🛵 Getting there:
• You can rent a motorbike from our homestay for 100,000 VND/day and ride to Ba Na Hills yourself.
• The road to Ba Na Hills is wide, easy to drive, and surrounded by beautiful greenery and flowers. Traffic is usually not too busy, so I think most travelers who are comfortable riding can enjoy going by motorbike 🌿
• If you prefer a more relaxing trip, you can also book a Ba Na Hills ticket package with shuttle bus service.
🚠 Before exploring, ask staff about the last cable car down to the city, because schedules may change depending on season or operation.
🏨 There are also hotels on the mountain if you want to stay overnight (around 2 million VND/night or more, depending on season). Staying overnight is a unique experience because after most visitors leave, the mountain becomes peaceful and romantic.
🌙 At night, you may enjoy:
✨ Cool weather and misty atmosphere
🔥 Bonfires and festival activities during special events
🌃 Quiet views overlooking Da Nang city lights
💚 A little personal story from me:
I usually come here with my son during summer holidays. For us, Ba Na Hills is the perfect place to escape the heat of Da Nang. My son especially loves the adventure games and exciting activities here 🎢
I have also visited many times with friends, staying overnight, talking late into the evening, taking photos among countless flowers and the French-style buildings that feel like something from a fairy tale 🌸🏰✨
My parents also love Ba Na Hills because of the cool weather and peaceful atmosphere.
Honestly, I visit Ba Na Hills at least once every year. Every trip feels different, and there is always something beautiful to discover again 🌿
Ba Na Hills is not only a tourist attraction — it is a place where many memories are made ❤️

🏔️ Hai Van Pass Gate (Hải Vân Quan) – Where Mountains Meet the Sea 🌿🌊
Hai Van Gate (Hải Vân Quan) is a historic gate located at the top of Hai Van Pass, the mountain pass connecting Da Nang and Hue.
Built in 1826 during the Nguyen Dynasty under Emperor Minh Mang, the gate was originally used to protect the ancient capital of Hue. The name “Hai Van” means “Ocean Clouds”, because this area is often covered by clouds while overlooking the sea below.
Today, Hai Van Quan is not only a historical site but also one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Vietnam. From the top, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline, mountains, forests, and Da Nang Bay.
📍 Location: about 30–40 minutes by motorbike or car from our homestay
🚗 The road itself is part of the experience!
Hai Van Pass is famous as one of the most scenic coastal roads in the world, with winding roads, ocean views, green mountains, and many café stops along the way.
☀️ Best weather to visit:
• Sunny days are highly recommended. Blue sky + white clouds = amazing photos and beautiful views 📸✨
• On cloudy, foggy, or stormy days, visibility can be very limited.
• Avoid rainy weather because the road can become slippery and dangerous.
💡 Local Tips from me:
🌅 I often come here myself for coffee and relaxation. My favorite time is around 5:00 AM.
Watching the city wake up from above, breathing the fresh mountain air, and seeing the sunrise over the sea is one of my favorite experiences in Da Nang 💚
Sometimes the sunrise is magical, but it depends on the weather too. On clear mornings, the scenery is unforgettable.
🌄 If waking up early is difficult, I recommend visiting in the afternoon around 3:00–4:00 PM.
This gives you enough time to enjoy the view, stop at cafés, take photos, and return before dark.
☕ Along the road, there are many cafés and small food stops where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.
⚠️ Safety tip:
After around 8:00 PM, the pass becomes very dark and quiet. Only a few cafés remain open, and the road can feel isolated.
If you are not familiar with the road, I recommend returning before 6:00 PM, especially if riding a motorbike.
🛵 You can also rent a motorbike from our homestay and ride up here. The journey itself is one of the highlights of Da Nang 🌿🏍️
For me, Hai Van Pass is not only a sightseeing place — it is somewhere I return to again and again for peace, coffee, fresh air, and beautiful mornings ❤️

🛍️ Hoa Khanh Market – A Local Market Experience Near Our Homestay 🌿
Just 5 minutes walking from the house, Hoa Khanh Market is one of the local markets in Lien Chieu District and a place I often recommend to guests who want to experience everyday Vietnamese life.
For me, whenever I travel somewhere new, I always try to visit the local market. A market tells you much more about local life than a supermarket.
Here you will see local vegetables, fruits, ingredients, street food, and products that sometimes cannot even be found in supermarkets 🌶️🥬🐟
It is not a modern supermarket with clean shelves and fixed prices. It has the smell of the market, the energy of local workers, fresh produce, and everyday Vietnamese life ❤️
📍 Market layout:
🛒 Ground floor: cosmetics, household goods, snacks, daily necessities
👕 Upper floor: clothes, shoes, bags, fashion stalls
🥬 Back area: fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, and local ingredients
🍜 Ready-to-eat food area:
You can try local foods such as:
- Bun Mam Co Sam (fermented fish noodle dish)
• Smoothies
• Xoa Xoa sweet dessert
• Che (Vietnamese sweet soup desserts)
• Rice dishes
• Banh Can and local snacks
👩🍳 Guests who enjoy cooking usually love this market because the vegetables are often fresher, more diverse, and cheaper than supermarkets.
⏰ Market hours: approximately 5:00 AM – 6:00 PM
🌙 Night market atmosphere:
After around 8:00 PM, the area becomes lively again with food stalls, clothing sellers, shoes, and small shops set up around the streets near the market.
💡 Local bargaining culture (welcome to Vietnam 😄)
In markets here, bargaining is part of the culture.
My little local guide:
🍜 Food (around 20,000–40,000 VND): usually no need to bargain.
👕 Clothes, shoes, souvenirs: bargaining is common.
A simple local trick:
Offer around two-thirds of the first price and see what happens 😄
If they do not agree, you can politely walk away. Sometimes they may call you back. If not, it probably means the price is already close to their limit.
Personally, I do not bargain much anymore because many shops already have similar prices. I usually just choose places with good quality products.
For foreign guests: most sellers are honest, but if a price feels high, do not be shy to politely ask for another price 😊
💚 And if you want to explore the market but feel nervous, just tell me. I can help guide you once so you get the local market experience 😄
5. Dragon Bridge – The Symbol of Modern Da Nang 🌉

Dragon Bridge (Cầu Rồng) is one of Da Nang’s most iconic landmarks. Opened in 2013, it spans the Han River and is designed as a golden dragon flying toward the sea — symbolizing prosperity, power, and growth.
On weekends, you can also watch the famous fire and water show.
Dragon Bridge – The Symbol of Da Nang 🌉✨
Dragon Bridge (Cầu Rồng) is one of the most iconic landmarks in Da Nang and a symbol of the city’s growth and energy.
If you visit Da Nang, you should definitely come here and take at least one photo 📸✨
The bridge stretches across the Han River and is designed in the shape of a golden dragon flying toward the sea — representing prosperity, power, and good fortune.
🌃 At night, the bridge lights up beautifully and becomes one of the most lively areas in the city.
🔥 Dragon Fire & Water Show:
Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays, the dragon performs a special show:
⏰ Time: 9:00 PM
⌛ Duration: around 15 minutes
The dragon breathes fire and sprays water — one of the must-see experiences in Da Nang.
💡 Three ways to enjoy Dragon Bridge:
1️⃣ Watch from the street (classic way)
Walk to the dragon head area and watch from the road nearby. You can enjoy the show from a distance and take photos.
🚶 Arrive early because it becomes very crowded before 9 PM.
2️⃣ Watch from a Han River cruise 🚢
You can book a river cruise ticket in advance.
💰 Usually around 200,000 VND / person, often including one drink (prices may change depending on season and company).
The boat usually sails from the area near Thuan Phuoc Bridge, travels along the Han River, arrives at Dragon Bridge around 9 PM, lets guests enjoy the fire & water show, then returns to the pier.
This is one of my favorite ways because you can see the city lights reflected on the river ✨🌃
3️⃣ The fun local experience 😄🌧️
Walk closer to the dragon head!
When the dragon sprays water, everyone nearby gets a “free shower” 😂
It is very fun and many locals enjoy it.
Bring:
☂️ An umbrella
👕 Extra clothes if you do not want to stay wet
❤️ Nearby: Love Bridge (Cầu Tình Yêu)
Only a short walk away, you will find Love Bridge, decorated with heart-shaped lights along the riverside.
Couples often buy love locks, attach them to the bridge, and throw the key into the Han River — symbolizing “we will stay together forever” 💕
🌉 Nearby attraction: Han River Bridge (Swing Bridge)
You can also walk to Han River Bridge, another famous symbol of Da Nang.
Originally, the bridge was designed to rotate so large ships could pass through. Today, it mainly serves tourism.
🕚 Rotation schedule:
• Around 10:50 PM → vehicles stop crossing
• 11:00 PM → bridge rotates 90°
• On Saturday and Sunday, it usually stays open until around 12:00 AM before returning to its normal position.
✨ One evening route I recommend:
Dragon Bridge Fire Show → Love Bridge → Han River Bridge Rotation
You can enjoy all three in one night and experience the atmosphere of Da Nang by the river 🌃❤️
